Whitney, Dallas Bridals

Hands down, Whitney is one of the most thoughtful brides I've ever had the pleasure of working with. This sweet girl booked me a year before her wedding and within the past 12 months I feel like we have become more friends than colleagues. Whitney is such a genuine spirit and always goes out of her way to make sure I feel appreciated. She is no doubt my most organized bride and made each of our collaborations effortless and fun. I was honored to photograph her wedding this past weekend, and cannot wait to share the beautiful images soon!! Whitney, I'm so sad you're no longer a Texas girl, but I know we will stay in touch for years to come. You are a true joy and I'm so incredibly thankful we've crossed paths. Thanks for being you.

Bonus!! I LOVED that Whitney brought her mom's vintage wedding dress to her bridal shoot. Check out her precious boho bridals in her mom's dress below, just for fun!

Martha + Paxton

This stunning Fort Worth wedding was such an honor to be a part of. Being new to the area, I feel so blessed to have met and worked with some of Fort Worth's finest families. The Oswalds and the Motherals could not have been more graceful in hosting such a beautiful wedding weekend and I'm so grateful I was able to share. It rained & it poured, but no amount of downfall could dampen such a splendid occasion. Martha and Paxton congrats on your beautiful wedding, you guys are wonderful together.

Thank you Carmen Evans for accompanying me as my second shooter. Your support is always appreciated!!

Kelcey + Bart, Texas Wedding Photography

This charming Brownwood wedding was such a sweet occasion. I'm still reminiscing over the lovely historical home where the bride dressed, seriously so quaint and only in a small town. Kelcey and I were (you guessed it) KKG's together and I'm so excited to share her beautiful wedding day. Best wishes to Kelcey and Bart, we'll see you in Cowtown!

Also, a very big thank you to the sweetest second shooter, Sammie Culpepper you are such a hard worker and a true genuine talent!!

Kelcey Johnson, Dallas Bridal Photography

When you have a stunning bride at a beautiful location it makes for pure bridal bliss. I adore this shoot with the lovely Kelcey May Johnson from the Mansion at Turtle Creek. Congrats to Kelcey and Bart who got married this past Saturday- their wedding post is coming soon!!

Film?!

This week marks a new chapter in my love affair with photography. Until recently, I never understood while anyone in this modern day would ever want to hassle with the inconvenience of film photography. I was the furthest person from wanting to try it, much lest invest in the archaic equipment in which I would need. After attending the workshop of the fabulous and ever so hip Taylor Lord- I was totally intrigued and wanted in on the lost art. This past weekend my sweet mama unearthed an old film camera that I'd known she had, but never showed any interest in pursuing. Yesterday I took an hour to teach myself how to load the archaic film (yes, an hour), find the shutter button (on the bottom half of the hasselblad, so strange), and fumble around with it's antique manual Zeiss 80mm lens to expose (with an old light meter) what I hope will be a beautiful first film test shot......the craziest part is the responsibility I felt to technically assess each shot's lighting qualities so that I didn't waste any of my precious 16 exposures! Film is not cheap and sending it off to get developed is a process not for the impatient "I need to see it now" photographer. Those close to me know that I don't enjoy waiting around and that I'm always acting on my quick and sometimes irrational impulses.....With that being said, I think this journey in film may be the perfect compliment to slow this busy body down, take a step back, and become a more sound and technical photographer.

Yesterday I styled some inanimate objects around my house and literally got the butterflies when I heard the extremely slow and loud shutter fire once. As a self taught, trigger happy digital photographer, I instinctively looked at the back of the camera to assess my image, ha- old habits will die hard I'm afraid. Guess I'll let you know how I did when I finish the role and send it off to be processed! Until then I plan on doing some heavy reading.

Lindsay + Garrett

This love is real, this love is genuine, and this love has been handcrafted & intricately created for these two amazing people. I am so honored to know Lindsay and Garrett. They are the type of couple you're lucky to meet at least once in your life. Hearing the speeches given at their rehearsal dinner, I was truly awestruck and moved to learn their story and how incredibly intentional the Lord has been in their relationship.

Their wedding fell on the most magical January day you could wish for…warm, golden light, and overflowing love from every corner. These two families are filled with such incredible spirits and it was truly uplifting to document such a perfect union. Lindsay and Garrett, you guys are so right for each other and I cannot wait to see what's in store for your future together. You two will do amazing things. Thank you for allowing me to play a role in your wedding day, it was such an honor.

HAD&P featured in The Knot Texas

I'm was so honored when The Knot Texas contacted me to feature Emily and Russ's beautiful Hill Country Wedding in PRINT!! Their magical day filled with whimsical yellow, natural kraft, and bold black & white stripes has left an imprint on my heart ever since last June. This classic occasion is still one of my very favorite weddings I've photographed and I'm so thankful The Knot Texas felt that same appeal. I'm forever grateful to the sweet bride Emily for her wonderful design eye and precious personality. A favorite for sure. Enjoy!

I've been so excited for this particular day since I first met sweet Liz. She careful crafted and planned the most beautiful wedding- and with the amazing talents of Stems of Dallas, Caroline Fair Events & Lindsey Zamora- the day was absolutely flawless. The reception took place at the Room on Main, which is one of my new personal favorites, the space is magical! Not even the rain could put a damper on Liz and Travis' wedding, as it set a perfect backdrop of yummy light and freshness all around. Liz and Travis are exactly the match I love to photograph; fun, totally in love, and down to earth, the perfect combination. Bless you guys and thanks so much for sharing this incredible moment with us.

Allison, Houston Bridal Session

This lovely bridal session is one of my very favorites to date!! I drove to Houston a few weeks back to document Alli in all her stunning bridal bliss, and it was totally worth every minute on the highway with a 16 month toddler!! Allison and I were, you guessed it, KKG's together back in our college days and I just adore her. She got hitched in Vegas last night and I can't wait to hear about all the glitzy details!! Viva baby!

Ashton + Matt, Fort Worth Wedding

Ashton and Matt got married on a gorgeous July afternoon. These two are a stunning couple and I loved getting to see Ashton, a former KKG sister of mine, so incredibly happy. The reception was at Joe T's, here in Fort Worth, and was one of the most laid-back and joyous weddings I've been a part of. The margaritas were flowing and I even got to take part in the festivities a bit! Every time I've gone to Joe T's I leave thinking how beautiful it would be for a photography backdrop, and I'm so thankful Ashton made it a reality! Ashton & Matt, all the best to your very bright future. Enjoy.

a heartfelt thanks to Carmen Evans Photography for lending her talent to second shoot this wedding.

Kat + Paul, Dallas Wedding Photography

Kat and Paul are hands down one of the funniest and most candid couples I've worked with!! Their personalities are so dynamic and fit one another just perfectly. I knew when I worked with them for their engagement session that their wedding day would not disappoint!! These two intricately choreographed the most hysterical first dance, which actually showcased some pretty awesome technical skill!! Their wedding day was such a joy and was flawlessly coordinated by the fabulous DFW Events, Inc. Stems of Dallas provided the lovely florals, and the adoooorable Amanda Marie of Amanda Marie Portraits accompanied me as a phenomenal second shooter. Kat & Paul, thank you for trusting us with your day, it was such a joy.

Kristi, Fort Worth Bridal Photography

I was so excited to photograph Kristi and all her bridal glory a few weeks back. She is a previous model and major fashionista. This girl's closet is insane and she rocks everything she wears regardless of label. Kristi is as sweet as she is beautiful, and gives bridal couture a whole new meaning. She married my cousin Chad this past weekend and we couldn't be happier to have her in the family. If you haven't seen their engagements, check them out here. They are the real life Ken and Barbie!!

Allison + Matt, the wedding.

Allison & Matt are celebrating their newlywed bliss and I am so happy to share this sneak peek of their wedding day. Allison is as sweet and ladylike as she looks and I just loved how organized and prepared she was for her wedding. Her vision of soft pinks and greens paired with vintage silver serving pieces came to life beautifully at her timeless wedding reception. Be sure to check out the adorable wedding favors displayed on vintage cake stands, which the bride collects!!  Too sweet I tell ya!! Enjoy!

A big thanks to this cute lady for second shooting!!

Native Texas Styled Shoot with Lindsey Zamora featured on Ruffled!

I'm so excited to share that HAD&P and Lindsey Zamora have been featured on Ruffled today!! Go over and check it out to see this amazing shoot styled and creatively directed by the ultimate creative genius, Lindsey Zamora. Lindsey and I worked hard to create a shoot that encompassed raw Texas landscape infused with hints of native influence. The shoot exhibits classic refined elements paired with an edgy and southwestern concept, appropriately on trend. We had a blast working together on every detail of the creative design and became fast friends on our weekend getaway to our family ranch in Post, Texas where we photographed the setup. Lindsey's amazing husband Robert Zamora provided the intricate wood work you see throughout the shoot. This dynamic couple designed the cake stand and table topper out of wood to be modularly placed underneath the fine china, creating the most perfect juxtaposition. I'm so thankful to all of our fantastic vendors who collaborated with us on this shoot. Kelly Marble of College Flowers out of Lubbock Texas supplied us with the most beautiful blend of soft unique florals with touches of succulents and dusty miller. One of our favorite surprises was the unexpected and oversized agave leaf he used as the center piece of the table scape. Lauren Essl of Blue Eye Brown Eye supplied us with the most unique calligraphy and vintage stamps. Her wonderful penmanship is an art form we were thankful to incorporate as it gave the shoot an underlying elegance paired with the graphic letterpress designs by Bella Figura. My sweet friend Traci Robinette and her husband Clay volunteered to be our models and did a fantastic job despite the unseasonable chilly weather! Traci's mom Marla Felton from Lubbock designed the beautiful wedding cake and is one talented lady with baked goods!! Thanks to Suite 206 for lending us the ahhhhh-mazing lucite ghost chairs and Gloss Luxury Rentals for the copper cake table. We love love love this shoot and hope you do to!!

Sarah + Carter, second look

Sarah & Carter tied the knot this past February in OKC. You may recall it was a beautiful wedding and one heck of a party!! In lieu of bridal portraits beforehand, Sarah & Carter decided on a very clever "second look" post wedding option. I think this is a brilliant idea for traditional brides who oppose the "first look" idea and opt not to see your groom before the wedding on your big day. This option allows for the traditional wedding approach, yet enables you to document your newlywed bliss in your bridal attire without the stress of the wedding day. Carter played along (as every good groom should), dressing up alongside Sarah for a post wedding second look. I just love these two new friends and I'm obsessed with this idea.

The Knot Texas

Being published in print is something that fulfills every photographer to no end. We spend countless hours behind the camera and computer composing subjects & tweaking images until we are blue in the face. We wear many hats so it feels great when that hard work and diligence is recognized and duly noted. I was ecstatic when The Knot Texas contacted me saying they stumbled across my blog and wanted to feature Lane & Alan's wedding in their Fall/Winter edition. The magazine should hit shelves soon, so make sure and grab a copy to support all the wonderful vendors who collaborated on this lovely wedding.

Elizabeth + Ryan, East Texas Wedding Photography

Understated elegance is what comes to mind when I think of the new Mrs. Ryan Baumgardner. She is a class act and a dear KKG sister of mine. My heart always melts when sweet friends from my past ask me to photograph their weddings. There is no greater compliment than knowing they trust me to capture the love and emotion of the most special day of their life. Elizabeth and Ryan are truly a perfect match and accent one another in such a wonderful way. I've loved getting to watch these two navigate their wedding bliss as I've had the pleasure of documenting their engagement, bridals, and now this lovely east Texas wedding. Godspeed you two.

Thanks to my sweet friends Brittany Jones for second shooting!! You are too much fun to work with and I appreciate your hard work more than you know!!
