How early should I book my session to guarantee you’re available?

Every season varies but to be safe it’s best to book about a month in advance. However, with this being said please don’t hesitate to inquire regarding last minute sessions because sometimes the stars align and we have immediate booking options available!

What days do you book typically? Are weekends an option?

Monday through Friday are the best option as weekends are reserved for weddings and time with family. We are flexible though and can often schedule weekend shoots for an additional cost if it’s your only option.

What is the turnaround time to receive images and prints?

Typical turnaround time is 2 weeks to receive the images via your online viewing gallery. This can vary during busy seasons.

Where do I purchase prints?

Prints can be purchased online via the viewing gallery after all the images have been processed. If you decide to purchase the rights to the digital images you can purchase prints anywhere, although we alway recommend going through our professional lab to ensure the best match and quality. If you decide to go elsewhere we recommend MPIX online.

What payments do you accept?

Options to make payments include cash or check.

What does your standard editing entail? What costs extra?

Editing includes one to two rounds of retouching where we adjust the overall colors, enhance lighting, remove simple blemishes and out of place items, etc. Additional photoshop retouch requests over 15 images costs $50/hr.

Will film be included?

Film is only used in optimal lighting conditions. Normally shooting indoors for a newborn shoot does not provide enough light to use film, but this varies from location to location!

Can we bring extra friends, family, or pets to the session?

All of the above are welcome to an extent, but it is important to keep in mind that additional people and distractions could directly affect the outcome of the shoot and quality of images produced. Having an extra set of hands from a family member can be helpful, but overcrowding can have a reverse effect.

Pets are welcome as long as you have realistic expectations and also accept any responsibility regarding their behavior towards your kids/loved one’s onsight

Should I get my hair and makeup done?

Yes! We know as a new mama you have no time for yourself, so we always recommend investing in a professional to come pamper you the day of your shoot! Our clients who invest in hair and makeup are always glad they did! This is not to say that if you do your own it won’t look good, but we highly recommend getting it done professionally. Ask Heather for a recommendation!

Do you provide props?

We provide a limited number of props such as a couple of swaddles and blanket, but the rest we leave up to you. The less props the better. We want the focus to be on you and your new little one and we want all our shoots to feel unique to your personal style! We will capture the details of the nursery and/or your home during the shoot.

Can I order an album?

YES. We highly recommend documenting such a precious time in your life with a tangible album. We will work with you to design, customize, and order your album(s). Please inquire with Heather Rowland to get access to the album pricing guide!

How many outfits should I have on hand?

Having an outfit or two on hand for poses where you hold the baby (i.e. group family shot) is always a good idea, but when it comes to photographing your newborn alone we find outfits to be a bit limiting and more challenging to photograph. Therefore when we focus on just the baby we tend to request diaper covers, bloomers, wraps & swaddles to elicit more natural poses and highlight all those cute baby rolls & newborn goodness!
