Sarah + Carter, Oklahoma City Wedding Photography

Moving to Fort Worth has been a blessing in many way. I love our new house, I love the city of Fort Worth, but most of all I love my new friends!!! I met Sarah through my best friend Megan and am so grateful for the connection. She is such a breath of fresh air and has an incredibly sweet disposition. A fellow young entrepreneur herself, Sarah owns an adorable paperie/gift store on Cow Town's most happening boulevard, Camp Bowie. You may remember seeing some of her beautiful merchandise from the Inscriptions on the Blvd blog post back in November. Needless to say I was so humbled and honored when someone with such great taste and high expectations asked me to photograph her wedding!! To refresh your memory, check out Sarah and Carter's adorable engagement session from this past fall.

The wedding took place in Oklahoma City and was a lovely event from start to finish. Sarah styled the day with tasteful whites, subtle purples (for the couples love of TCU) and touches of timeless elegance intertwined with a modern flair. Sarah and Carter have been together all through college and fit one another just perfectly. I loved hearing about their fun background & courtship throughout the weekend, particularly at the rehearsal dinner!! They have a hysterical group of friends who made their way to OKC to help this dynamic duo celebrate their big day. There was never a dull moment and it's one of the most fun weddings I've had the pleasure of shooting. A big thanks to Britt Jones for being my second, you are so much fun my friend! Also, thanks to Sarah and Carter for including me on such a wonderful wedding weekend. I can't wait to make more fun memories now that we all live in the same city!! Wishing you the happiest of marriages you two!

Amanda + Reid Lubbock Wedding Photography

Amanda & Reid tied the knot in Lubbock recently and I'm so grateful I got to part of the entire event!! As I mentioned in Amanda's bridals posted previously, we've known each other for so long that it was really special to be able to serve my sweet childhood friend in this way. The reception was beautiful and elegant from every angle and was styled by none other than the most tasteful of florists, College Flowers. Elisabeth Burrows coordinated the event flawlessly and as always, was a true joy to work with!! Ashley Rodgers was my second shooter and flash guru throughout the day, a huge thanks to her as usual for being available! My good friend Shanda Hasse from White Sparrow Design created the invitations and fun graphics throughout the event while Marla Felton baked the yummy & beautiful cakes! I just love this team of vendors as they have all become friends, colleagues, and even supportive clients throughout the years! Amanda & Reid's wedding reception was a true joy as it gave me a chance to see many of my old high-school friends & their families. I'm so blessed to be able to call this a job. Thanks to everyone and enjoy a highlight of this lovely day!

This guy gets a dancing montage all to himself!! He was hysterical!

 Happy Wedding Amanda & Reid!

Sarah + Matthew, a Dallas Wedding

This wedding was lovely in every way. I'm currently a big fan of succulents, earth tone linens, and shades of poppy splashed with Tiffany blue. Sarah and Matthew are a match made in heaven. In fact, Matthew is the cousin to one of my best childhood friends, Meg. We used to always joke about the Hall brothers who happened to be twins and whose pictures were displayed on their family fridge. Since 7th grade, all of our friends secretly had imaginary weddings planned with one of the two. When Sarah asked me to photograph her wedding I had never met the groom. We had our initial meeting and she showed me a picture of Matt and I just knew he looked so familiar. Ha, little did I know he was the man behind that very refrigerator picture at Meg's house from so many years ago!! It is such a small world and I feel so fortunate to know Sarah. She and my brother were friends all through school and she is a true gem of a bride. She is so soft spoken and as sweet as she looks. It was a joy to be at their ceremony, as it was one of the sweetest I've seen yet. Thank you both for including me on your wedding day and best wishes in the future!

Celina + Wes San Antonio Wedding

Celina and Wes were blessed with a beautiful wedding day in the heart of San Antonio. There is nothing better than a fall wedding with what feels like summer weather! We were fortunate to have the beautiful golden hues that November light has to offer, paired with the warm sun-kissed temperatures of the South. Celina and Wes have known each other practically all their lives and were high school sweethearts. Celina attended TCU and Wes went to A&M, but they still managed to maintain a relationship that would make it to the altar after all these years!! These two are truly so in love and are a stunning couple in every way. They were surrounded by wonderful friends and family who showed up to support and celebrate this union in style. The reception was unreal and the Garza's hosted an elegant seated dinner and an incredible party accompanied by the band The Pictures (who played at our wedding in 2009, truly the best wedding band around)! It was a joy to see Celina and Wes so happy and in love. Weddings like this just confirm why I love photography so much.

A special thanks to Ashley Rodgers for meeting me in San Antonio to second shoot! You are a total blast my friend!

Neely + Cody Boerne Wedding Photography

Neely and Cody were blessed with a perfectly crisp fall day for their splendid Hill Country wedding. They got married at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, and I was so excited to learn that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert tied the knot there just this past year!! Neely & Cody are even sweeter than they look and could not be more genuine. I'm blessed to work with such incredible people and must say it's clients/friends like these that make me love my job so dearly. I had a blast at their wedding and loved catching up with many of our old college friends. Neely and I were both Kappas at Tech and her mom was actually my pre-school teacher!! There is nothing better than a beautiful fall wedding with two lovebirds like this. Thanks for sharing!

The new Mrs. Sordini

They say in your lifetime you'll be able to count your best friends on one hand. Well Megan is my number one, my index finger, my numero uno. She is seriously my go to best friend whether rain or shine. We've known each other since 2nd grade and have been inseparable since. Well, actually that's not true. We've been separated by houses far apart during our childhood, different campuses in our college years, and different cities in our early adult years. In fact up until two months ago Megan and I never had proximity on our side and still managed to talk at least five times a week, sometimes even five times a day!! We have an understanding with one another and really treat each other more like sisters than friends.

We've always said we want to have kids near each other and own neighboring lake houses!! It seemed far fetched, but now that we are in the same town it may all just work out!! You can imagine our excitement when Ryan was placed at JPS in Fort Worth for his residency. Megan and I have never been so pumped!! We knew that living in the same town would mean actually shopping together instead of sending text pictures to ask if "these pants are dorky", and it would mean actually going out together instead of just the late night calls to ramble about how much fun our evenings had been. Truth be told, we're just best friends, period.

I was so honored to be the matron of honor at her charming Charleston, SC wedding. I would have LOVED to photograph the entire event, but knew that it was more important to sit back and sink in all the love and joy of the day first hand and not behind a lens. I did manage to sneak a few details of the day while we were getting ready and have shared them below. Megan asked me to take her bridals, which of COURSE I would never pass up. Megan has the most classic and timeless taste and I just love everything she selected from the dress to the venue to the man. Her sweet hubby Clayton is responsible for the Valentinos you see below.....he's knows a thing or two about making Megan a happy bride!! Love this couple and LOVE this sweet girl. Meet my best friend Megan Sordini.

Lane + Alan, the wedding.

Alan and Lane were practically made for each other. They're both fun loving people who define the party wherever they go. Just check out the groom busting some sweet moves on the dance floor below and you'll know exactly what I mean! Their wedding was a throw back to our TTU college years and almost felt like a Kappa/ Phi Delt reunion!! I loved every minute of shooting their big day, especially since I could reconnect with Lane and so many of my KKG sisters!! Wishing all the best to you and Alan, & judging by the tone of your wedding, you've got a very fun life ahead of you!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful occasion, xo.

Lindsey + Jackson, the wedding.

Lindsey and Jackson are one of those couples you look at and basically wish you could know. They are fun, obviously beautiful, but most importantly unconditionally kind. I can't even tell you how many times working with Lindsey, she asked me what I needed or what she could do to help me. You know you've hit the jackpot with a bride when she genuinely wants you to be comfortable and happy on HER wedding day. It's obvious where these two learned their "good home training", as both sets of parents are just as sweet. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this case, and I enjoyed getting to know their families throughout the wedding festivities as well. I can honestly say, this is one of those weddings that just gives you a warm fuzzy all over. A big thanks to the team at College Flowers for preparing such a wonderful event!! Please meet and fall in love with the new Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Nahoum. Best wishes to a long life full of happiness and love. Cheers!

Whitney + Katrina

There isn't a more perfect way to ease back into the swing of things than with a small intimate home-style wedding. I was excited when my friend and fellow photographer Meghan contacted me to take pictures at her brother, Whitney's wedding a couple of weeks back. This couple's love for each other is so evident and their excitement was contagious. They had loved ones speak throughout the ceremony and give testimonies on both Whitney and Katrina's behalf, which really gave me insight as to how special this union truly was! Best of luck to this adorable couple in the future, and thanks for allowing me to share in your wedding moment.

Elizabeth + Ben. The Wedding.

Elizabeth and I are old acquaintances from back in day of firecracker bangs and Keds tennis shoes. After growing up in Lubbock, we both went to UT the same year and saw each other at the occasional mixer enabling us to stay in touch. I've always loved Elizabeth's eclectic taste and just knew her wedding would reflect her unique and amazing style. She got married this past weekend here in Lubbock at Lakeridge Methodist Church followed by a beautiful Lubbock Country Club reception adorned by the floral geniuses at College Flowers. As always, I must thank the fabulous Amy-Rose King for shooting this wedding along side me, she's truly the best. Having been at UT the same time as Elizabeth is was a treat to see so many of my old Austin friends and even more fun to watch everyone having an absolute blast on the dance floor. The Don Caldwell Band made the reception complete and definitely was the hit of the night. Elizabeth & Ben, you are an adorable couple, thanks so much for including me in your big day. Happy Honeymoon!!

Jenea + Caleb

This wedding holds a special place in my heart, as I've known Jenea for years. I was beyond thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding, as I knew how magnificent it would be. Jenea and her wedding team did not disappoint. Between this fabulous bride, her sweet mom, and the amazing wedding coordinator, Shannon Schultz, this event really set the bar. The entire day was such a blast & since I knew most of her bridesmaids it was a treat to hang out with old friends!! Who doesn't love a classic church wedding followed by a lovely reception full of fabulous food & fun?! The reception took place at the Worthington Renaissance Hotel in downtown Ft. Worth, and was adorned with the most elegant & tasteful decor.  A special thanks to Amy-Rose King Photography for second shooting, and always teaching me new tricks along the way. Jenea and Caleb you are a magnificent couple and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you. Happy Honeymoon!!

Megan + Michael, the wedding.

As promised, here is Megan & Michael's beautiful wedding recap. The two loyal Aggie alumni got married on January 14th in College Station, where they met and fell in love. They've gone full circle  and have now tied the knot in the town that served as the perfect backdrop for their relationship- I can't think of a sweeter start for a precious marriage. If you didn't see yesterday's post, check it out to get the back story on these two. I'm going to let the pictures do the talking on this one. Oh, and a huge thanks to my friend & second shooter Brittany Jones. We had a great road trip across Texas (minus getting pulled over and somewhat lost) and I'm so grateful she was available to help with this beautiful day. Enjoy!

Natasha + Russell

Meet Natasha & Russell, a fabulous Lubbock couple. I had a great time shooting their wedding. Russell served time in Iraq and the two tied the knot shortly after Veterans' Day which made the union even more special. Many of his marine friends traveled from corners of the country to participate in the excitement, just validating the brother-like bond that so many of our troops share. It was a special event, and I was very proud to be a part of it all. Thanks you two and I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Life's a flash, capture accordingly.

Caroline + Jerad, the wedding

This wedding was a photographer's dream come true. Simply put it was chic, elegant, and classic from start to finish. Caroline and her adorable mom did a fantastic job planning this wedding and every detail literally had me "ewwwing and ahhing". The bride actually bedazzled her shoes with rhinestones, one by one, now that's attention to detail. Amy-Rose and I were slightly obsessed. Caroline and Jerad are one of those couples who even when the camera isn't on them, are completely immersed in one another. I had to literally drag them off the dance floor to get a few fun images at the reception (for which they were total sports!!). Truly October 22nd was one of those days where the stars aligned; a bride I adore, a totally classic setting, and my absolute favorite second shooter, Amy-Rose King. I may refer to her as my second shooter for some weddings, but let's not kid ourselves.... Amy-Rose is seriously the most amazing friend and mentor I could ever ask for. In fact most of the awesome shots involving flash below are compliments of Amy-Rose. She is teaching me new tricks and I love her for that!! The weekend was a blast and our road trip to Dallas was full of fun. We even had a chance run-in with fellow photographer Linda Schilberg in Sweetwater! It's a small world, and I'm thankful for that. If it wasn't for this small world Caroline & I would have never met and I would have never gotten to photograph this amazing event. A big thanks to everyone involved. I hope you all enjoy, I know I did!!

Amy-Rose & I looking slightly worn out by this point. There was a pretty commical montage leading up to this picture, but for the sake of appearing professional I limited it to just one.

Kellyn + Carey, the wedding.

As promised here is Carey & Kellyn's adorable wedding post. Their wedding took place at the Lubbock Windmill Museum and was infused with lots of quaint West Texas flair. Their wedding was a great time and since Carey and I are from the same high school, I got to catch up with a number of old acquaintances I hadn't seen in a while! I really got to know Carey and Kellyn through their engagement session & Kellyn's bridal session and wish them a life full of happiness. Congratulations you two!!

Lindsey + Colton. The Wedding.

Lindsey and Colton Glasscock tied the knot a few weeks ago, and I'm sure glad they invited me to be a part of their big event! My amazing second shooter for the day, Therese Barrett, and I had a blast capturing the details and emotions that the day had to offer. Therese was fabulous and has such an eye for capturing little ones (which is her forte, check out her website). My job never gets old, as each new event offers fresh and exciting moments to photograph. The bride's sister Lauren is a creative type as well, and set up an awesome time lapse of the wedding & reception. I totally want to learn how to do this, it's great! With no further adieu, let's get to the images & let them do the talking! Enjoy.

HAD&P Featured on Style Me Pretty Texas!

I'm so thrilled to share with you guys that we've been featured on the adorable go-to wedding blog- Style Me Pretty: Texas!! You all probably remember my wedding debut from Fredericksburg with Charla & Jon Lee back in March. The amazing florist from this event, Melanie Tipton from Last Petal in Austin, Tx contacted me and suggested I submit these images to Style Me Pretty. Little did I know they would actually pick up the post the very next week!! This quaint Texas wedding was every photographer’s dream come true. All the details and romantic touches seemed to come straight from a J.Crew or Anthropologie ad campaign. The wedding was so classic, so charming, and so quaint. The union took place at the Hoffman Haus in Fredericksburg, Texas & was a complete success. Wedding coordinator Luis Carmona was exceptional and made sure each intricate detail was executed properly. He was absolutely amazing to work with & he certainly kept Amy-Rose and I laughing the entire day.

The decorations from this event were just perfection and the bride and her family worked diligently to make sure each significant detail came together swimmingly. The candle and tree stump centerpieces were actually hand cut by the bride's mom. The trees came from the bride's grandfather's field. The signs that have the cities where their families traveled from are actually wood slats from the her grandfather's barn also and were hand painted by her mom.

My fabulous second shooter Amy-Rose King, of Amy-Rose King Photography, shot along side me at this wedding and contributed some phenomenal images. The flowers were provided by Last Petal out of Austin, Texas and provided  fresh, soft and elegant touches to the vintage backdrop. The wedding was the absolute picture of romance set alongside a true Texas treasure, The Hoffman Haus.

Last but not least, an immense thank you to the bride & groom, Charla & Jon Lee. I'm so very appreciative to have been included in your beautiful wedding. You made my job so easy, but most importantly, so fulfilling!! Cheers to you, your happy marriage, and your beautiful wedding!!

You can see the entire post at Style Me Pretty: Texas. Be sure and leave us some LOVE!!

Carly + Travis: The Wedding

Carly and Travis are one of those couples you catch yourself staring at adoringly. Maybe it's because they are so darn cute together, or perhaps how contagious their love is for one another. Looking back through these images, I can't help but smile at the way Travis looks at Carly. As the story goes, Travis fell hard for Carly when she wasn't available and was already dating someone else. Apparently this didn't phase Travis, and he waited years for his chance to sweep her off her feet. Needless to say, he got his long awaited opportunity and the rest is history. It's stories like this that make my heart melt, and it's people like Carly and Travis that make my job so addicting! Thank you both for letting me be a part of your big day. Also, a big thanks to my sweet mom, Candy Thames, for coming along to this wedding as my second shooter (and moral supporter!). If you get a chance, go check out Clayton Stringer's video from this wedding. He just recently started a new videography business and is very talented and a pleasure to work with! Carly & Travis, you two have a beautiful future full of love and happiness. I wish you ALL the best. Thanks again.

Brandon + Stacy: The Wedding

I was so honored and thrilled to be a part of Brandon & Stacy's big day on May 7th, 2011 at the Historic Baker Building of Lubbock. I got to know these lovebirds back in the fall when we initially met for their engagement session. Needless to say, these two are easy going AND easy on the eyes! I just love how in love they are. I'm feeling especially mushy tonight, partly because I'm holding my brand new beautiful baby niece in my lap as I type this, and partly because it's 4:00am and I can't sleep in this stiff chair they call the "visitor's bed" here at the hospital. Enough of my baby babbling, I'll be posting MUCH more about Miss Madeley Marie McDowell later this week, but as for now this post is about the beautiful newlyweds. Stacy & Brandon! Their wedding was perfect from every angle and the reception was a hoot. They are surrounded by such fun family & friends. By the end of the reception I had picked up a few new dance moves, thanks to some of the more distinguished groomsmen! Also, a big thanks to my old friend & second shooter Brittany Jones of Brit Jones Photography. She and I had so much fun together and she really helped me to capture the details of the big day. Hope you all enjoy.
