Elizabeth + Ryan

Another one of my precious fellow KKG sisters is tying the knot!! I absolutely love this darling couple and it was such a fun evening photographing them out at White Rock Lake in Dallas. They brought their sweet chocolate lab all the way from Longview to be part of our shoot!! I love catching up with old friends during the peaks of their life, and I'm absolutely blessed to call this a job. Elizabeth and Ryan are getting married this coming March in Longview and I can't wait!!

Megan + Clayton

You guys all remember my best friend Megan from when I posted her bridals back in September. Somehow between the time we shot Megan & Clatyon's engagement session and me having a baby/moving, these images slipped past the blog! The post is now ready for show & tell and deserves a feature of its own!! Megan and Clayton are seriously perfect for each other. They fell in love during their college years at TCU and have been together ever since. They are some of our best friends here in Fort Worth and even though life keeps us all crazy busy, we manage to find time to see each other as much as possible. Congrats to my favorite newlyweds.... I'm still having withdrawals from your lovely wedding weekend in Charleston. Love you guys!

Emily Bridals

This adorable bride was one of my KKG sisters at Tech and I just love her. She has such a captivating personality and not to mention the sweetest golden retriever. I don't know many brides who would trust their dog standing next to them in their wedding gown, but Emily was up for it! I'm excited to share these images now that she's tied the knot! Emily & Stephen I wish you all the best!!

Mrs. Goetz

I just came back across this little gem of a bridal session and realized I hadn't blogged it!! Elizabeth is such a fun and eclectic bride and I just love her taste. She has the coolest ring I've seen hands down, I just love it. Also, she wins the best bridal bouquet so far. The bold mix of colors makes me so happy, and we all have College Flowers to thank for that!! Elizabeth and Ben tied the knot back in March (you can see that post here) and have been living happily ever after since. Cheers to a beautiful bride and a very happy marriage.

Amanda + Reid Engagements

Amanda and I have known each other since before junior high. You can imagine knowing someone that long that we've gone through many awkward adolescent stages together!! I recently came across some pretty comical junior high hand written notes that we sent back and forth to each other no doubt during important classroom time. We even played on the same basketball team which was coached by her dad!! The Booher family is seriously one of my favorites and I just love Amanda to pieces. I'm so excited to be involved with her wedding this spring and am thrilled to share these adorable engagement images from my trip to Lubbock a few weeks back. Amanda and Reid are such a sweet pair and I can't wait to watch their story unfold!!

The new Mrs. Sordini

They say in your lifetime you'll be able to count your best friends on one hand. Well Megan is my number one, my index finger, my numero uno. She is seriously my go to best friend whether rain or shine. We've known each other since 2nd grade and have been inseparable since. Well, actually that's not true. We've been separated by houses far apart during our childhood, different campuses in our college years, and different cities in our early adult years. In fact up until two months ago Megan and I never had proximity on our side and still managed to talk at least five times a week, sometimes even five times a day!! We have an understanding with one another and really treat each other more like sisters than friends.

We've always said we want to have kids near each other and own neighboring lake houses!! It seemed far fetched, but now that we are in the same town it may all just work out!! You can imagine our excitement when Ryan was placed at JPS in Fort Worth for his residency. Megan and I have never been so pumped!! We knew that living in the same town would mean actually shopping together instead of sending text pictures to ask if "these pants are dorky", and it would mean actually going out together instead of just the late night calls to ramble about how much fun our evenings had been. Truth be told, we're just best friends, period.

I was so honored to be the matron of honor at her charming Charleston, SC wedding. I would have LOVED to photograph the entire event, but knew that it was more important to sit back and sink in all the love and joy of the day first hand and not behind a lens. I did manage to sneak a few details of the day while we were getting ready and have shared them below. Megan asked me to take her bridals, which of COURSE I would never pass up. Megan has the most classic and timeless taste and I just love everything she selected from the dress to the venue to the man. Her sweet hubby Clayton is responsible for the Valentinos you see below.....he's knows a thing or two about making Megan a happy bride!! Love this couple and LOVE this sweet girl. Meet my best friend Megan Sordini.

Neely + Cody

I simply adore this couple!! Neely and Cody are just as sweet as they look, and I'm so excited to be photographing their Hill Country wedding at the end of October. Their engagement session was such a breath of fresh air and I cannot wait to see what this beautiful couple has in store for their big day. Until then, enjoy this very romantic engagement session.

Lane + Alan, the wedding.

Alan and Lane were practically made for each other. They're both fun loving people who define the party wherever they go. Just check out the groom busting some sweet moves on the dance floor below and you'll know exactly what I mean! Their wedding was a throw back to our TTU college years and almost felt like a Kappa/ Phi Delt reunion!! I loved every minute of shooting their big day, especially since I could reconnect with Lane and so many of my KKG sisters!! Wishing all the best to you and Alan, & judging by the tone of your wedding, you've got a very fun life ahead of you!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful occasion, xo.

Meet Mrs. Pender

I'm feeling like I've hit the photography jackpot with these past two beautiful brides!! Lane and I were Kappas together at Texas Tech, and both being from Lubbock were able to reconnect for her wedding photography!! I was SO flattered when Lane was interested in me shooting her bridals and wedding because I value her taste very much. She has always been so influential in Kappa and has such a fun group of girlfriends that I haven't seen since college, and had a blast with at her wedding. I've been very excited to share these amazing bridals we took in Dallas at the Mansion at Turtle Creek. Every inch of this lovely hotel revealed a new vignette to be photographed!! With my love of design and photography, this was one of my favorite bridal shoots so far!! We had a fabulous time with Lane's mom and sister who were there for moral support, but became my "go to" assistants! I cannot wait to share a sneak peek of Lane and Alan's wedding from this past weekend, but until then, enjoy meeting the new Mrs. Alan Pender.

Lindsey + Jackson, the wedding.

Lindsey and Jackson are one of those couples you look at and basically wish you could know. They are fun, obviously beautiful, but most importantly unconditionally kind. I can't even tell you how many times working with Lindsey, she asked me what I needed or what she could do to help me. You know you've hit the jackpot with a bride when she genuinely wants you to be comfortable and happy on HER wedding day. It's obvious where these two learned their "good home training", as both sets of parents are just as sweet. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this case, and I enjoyed getting to know their families throughout the wedding festivities as well. I can honestly say, this is one of those weddings that just gives you a warm fuzzy all over. A big thanks to the team at College Flowers for preparing such a wonderful event!! Please meet and fall in love with the new Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Nahoum. Best wishes to a long life full of happiness and love. Cheers!

Meet Mrs. Nahoum

I've been absolutely dying to share these ahhhh-mazing images with you guys since we took Lindsey's bridals a few weeks ago.... it's been so hard to keep it hush hush, until now! Meet the new Mrs. Jackson Nahoum. Lindsey and Jackson tied the knot this past Saturday night and I have so many phenomenal moments to share on their sneak peek coming your way soon. As for now, enjoy this stunning bride who is TRULY as sweet as she looks. A huge thanks to Kelly from College Flowers for providing his lovely home as our backdrop and the beautiful florals of course!

WES + CELINA

Celina and Wes are one of those couples that you just fall in love with instantly!! I love that Celina is so tiny and petite and Wes is just the opposite; they really compliment each other in every way possible! I'm headed to San Antonio tomorrow to photograph this girl in her pretty white dress and I cannot wait to see what she has in store. Their engagement pictures are from this past fall and I decided I couldn't photograph her bridals without introducing you all to this precious couple! These two are planning to get married this November in San Antonio and I'm really looking forward to their big day!! Until then, enjoy their engagements.

Life's a flash, capture accordingly.

Whitney + Katrina

There isn't a more perfect way to ease back into the swing of things than with a small intimate home-style wedding. I was excited when my friend and fellow photographer Meghan contacted me to take pictures at her brother, Whitney's wedding a couple of weeks back. This couple's love for each other is so evident and their excitement was contagious. They had loved ones speak throughout the ceremony and give testimonies on both Whitney and Katrina's behalf, which really gave me insight as to how special this union truly was! Best of luck to this adorable couple in the future, and thanks for allowing me to share in your wedding moment.

Rhett Kingston

Well it's safe to say things have changed around here. Since you've seen me last we've had a baby, moved to Fort Worth, and Ryan started his orthopedic residency. If you're wondering why you haven't seen any updated blog posts in the past three months, it's because this little man has been keeping me plenty busy! Between traveling, moving, birthin' babies, and starting new jobs, life has never been sweeter. We are so blessed and grateful to announce the birth of our son, Rhett Kingston Rowland. Above is his birth announcement, which many of you will receive in the mail. I just had to post a sneak peek because knowing me, it might be a few more days before they get addressed!! I'm so glad to be back in action and I'm excited to start this new chapter in Fort Worth. I'm still traveling back to Lubbock quite frequently for shoots, so please don't hesitate to book a session with HAD&P regardless of where you're located!! I'm looking forward to playing catch up on all the fabulous posts I've got in store!

ready and waiting

BOY how life has changed!! Literally.... we are having a baby boy here any day now and we are anxiously awaiting his arrival!!! I just wanted to post a few pictures of his nursery before I go into labor, because who knows when I'll be back to my computer after that!! I'll admit that I'm nuts. Ryan and I are moving to Ft. Worth here in a month and I still thought it was imperative to paint & decorate the nursery. I admit I've got a problem, but let's face it.... I'm experiencing what they call "nesting".  It's a new mom-to-be's biological right of passage. Pregnant women out there everywhere, please back me up when I say that if we could bottle up this energy and sell it, we would be rich! I caught myself cleaning out underneath my bathroom sink the other night until 2:00 in the morning, just to wake up at 8:00 the next day to continue the insanity. I can't help it- between washing the baby's clothes in Dreft to decorating a room which will be dismantled within the month, I've truly gone "prazy".  (that's pregnant + crazy). I've got to thank my incredible mom for helping me so much in the nursery and putting up with my antics! She and I have had the best time brainstorming each angle of the room. The crib was a gift from both of my parents and my amazing mom made the curtains and some of the baby bedding herself!! My grandmother also hand-stitched some love into the baby bumper giving the bedding a totally custom look. The bookshelf was first in my mom's room when she was a kid and  I've since robbed it from my brother's room and repainted it to match our little man's stuff. The ABC wall and his initials posted over the bed were custom drawn on my CAD program and cut out of wood & then painted to match. All we lack at this point is our sweet baby, and possibly a rug, and a chandelier, and a.... oh no, will I ever be finished?!?! haha. I plan on sharing many more images from our pregnancy, including our gender reveal, baby showers, maternity pictures & much more... but for now, enjoy this sweet nursery, because in five  years it will be all sports posters and sweaty boy stuff....right now though, it's mommy's way or the highway!

Meet Mrs. Stone

Meet the wonderful Mrs. Stone. Jenea & Caleb got married last February (check out their fabulous wedding post here) and are living the wonderful newlywed life in Ft. Worth, Tx. I'm SO thrilled that my hubby Ryan and I will be moving to Ft. Worth for his orthopedic surgery residency in May!! I have an entire "personal post" coming up to keep you all updated on our crazy lives with an upcoming move and a baby on the way any day now!! However, for now feast your eyes on this stunning bride. I'm always a beat behind on the blog, but I couldn't let this one slip me by. Jenea is truly one of the most thoughtful and kind people I know. I'm beyond words excited that we will most likely be living down the street from each other in cow town!! Enjoy this beautiful bride.

Elizabeth + Ben. The Wedding.

Elizabeth and I are old acquaintances from back in day of firecracker bangs and Keds tennis shoes. After growing up in Lubbock, we both went to UT the same year and saw each other at the occasional mixer enabling us to stay in touch. I've always loved Elizabeth's eclectic taste and just knew her wedding would reflect her unique and amazing style. She got married this past weekend here in Lubbock at Lakeridge Methodist Church followed by a beautiful Lubbock Country Club reception adorned by the floral geniuses at College Flowers. As always, I must thank the fabulous Amy-Rose King for shooting this wedding along side me, she's truly the best. Having been at UT the same time as Elizabeth is was a treat to see so many of my old Austin friends and even more fun to watch everyone having an absolute blast on the dance floor. The Don Caldwell Band made the reception complete and definitely was the hit of the night. Elizabeth & Ben, you are an adorable couple, thanks so much for including me in your big day. Happy Honeymoon!!

Madeley & her many hats

Things have been so busy on the work front lately that I've noticed I haven't been sharing my favorite things on the blog as much- my fabulous FAMILY!! My favorite new member, Madeley, is my precious niece. My sister Ginger & her husband Brett really hit the jackpot with this kid. You may think I'm lying or being a partial aunt, but she is as close to perfect as any baby could be. She RARELY cries, is always smiling, and has never met a stranger. This past weekend she had the entire section of every restaurant we ate at wrapped around her finger. She's a doll and I'm SO glad I can call her my niece!! You may remember her big debut into the world back in May. If not, you should check out this blog post and be sure and watch the video if you have a minute.... maybe it's because I'm pregnant and it's my family, but it still makes me cry every time!!! I love this kid and I'm already feeling sentimental seeing how much she has changed in the past 9 months. My mom has gone into full grandmother mode and picked up knitting. Between my mom and her friends, Madeley has a hat for every occasion!! Here is a brief recap of the divine miss Madeley Marie McDowell.
