Happy Birthday to Rhett

Where has the time gone? How is this sweet baby of mine already one year old?! I can successfully say that the past year of our lives has been the most fun-filled, action-packed & meaningful 12 months ever. This precious baby boy has taken our world and shaken it up to mean so much more. I've never felt so fulfilled and happy as I am being a mom to this amazing little man. Rhett, being your mommy is the most challenging and exciting job I've had yet. You are the happiest kid I know and I'm convinced, the most energetic human on the planet. You say mama, dada, ball, bye bye, & oooohhhhhh a lot; you love baths (especially with your cousin when you can have splash attacks). You are in the 99th percentile for height; the 95th percentile for weight; and your head is still a tater tot at the 93rd percentile. You are 25.11 lbs and I'm really ready for you to walk because I can barely carry you. I'm convinced you know how, because we have plenty of video proof, but I think you like tricking us so we carry you everywhere. The doctor thinks you'll be drafted by the Cowboys, but your dad is hoping for the Broncos; regardless, we can't hope for either until you start walking. You are a mover and a shaker and changing your diaper is like wrestling a small alligator. You've fallen off the bed once (my bad) and bumped that rather large (but very cute) noggin of yours a number of times. You love to "answer the phone" and sing "la la la". You enjoy food like your mama and when it's something really tasty you love to dance in approval. You look like your dad, my dad, and your great G-Dad (which is a fantastic combo) and I'm very grateful for your sweet personality. Your daddy and I are beyond proud of you and not a day goes by where we don't thank our lucky stars you're all OURS! We celebrated your first birthday party in style. When your name is Rhett Rowland, you have to have a "Railroad" themed birthday party! We had a blast celebrating the first year of your life with our closest friends, family, sweet neighbors, new friends & old. You had about 50 people to sing you happy birthday and then you got to dig into a smash cake all to yourself. We are beyond thankful to both of our families for helping us prepare for this big day. You are very loved sweet boy.

You are my world sweet boy! Love you.

Britton + Dori, Destination Wedding

Destination weddings are my new jam. I'm so incredibly grateful that Dori and Britton gave my husband Ryan (aka my favorite destination second shooter) and I the opportunity to travel to the Excellence Riviera Maya Cancun to document their beautiful wedding weekend. It was one of the most fun "work vacations" I've had yet, and I could certainly get used to the destination wedding scene. Dori and Britton are two peas in a pod and kept us on the edge of our seats the entire weekend. Britton and Ryan were best friends through middle school back in Midland so I had some idea of what we were getting into by having a front row seat to their wedding. Britton & Dori's last name is Butts and to give you a brief example of their hysterical sense of humor, you should know that they left their reception dancing to "I Like Big Butts"! They're two incredible people and it's always so refreshing to work with a couple who loves to have such fun on their big day. Thank you both for the opportunity of a lifetime! Hopefully this will be the kickstart to many more destination weddings to come.... I'm thinking Europe next.... any takers?!

And of course a big thanks to my favorite second shooter/hubby on this one. You made me real proud, love you!

Braden, Fort Worth Senior

My cousin Braden is beautiful, fun and beyond talented & I can't even believe it is her senior year of high school here in Fort Worth! She is a triple threat when it comes to singing, acting, and dancing and she's on the hunt for the perfect college to cultivate her numerous talents. Remember this face, I promise you will see her again. Braden, I can't wait to watch what the world has in store for you. Love you!!

Elizabeth + Ryan, East Texas Wedding Photography

Understated elegance is what comes to mind when I think of the new Mrs. Ryan Baumgardner. She is a class act and a dear KKG sister of mine. My heart always melts when sweet friends from my past ask me to photograph their weddings. There is no greater compliment than knowing they trust me to capture the love and emotion of the most special day of their life. Elizabeth and Ryan are truly a perfect match and accent one another in such a wonderful way. I've loved getting to watch these two navigate their wedding bliss as I've had the pleasure of documenting their engagement, bridals, and now this lovely east Texas wedding. Godspeed you two.

Thanks to my sweet friends Brittany Jones for second shooting!! You are too much fun to work with and I appreciate your hard work more than you know!!

Elizabeth, East Texas Bridal Photography

Words cannot describe the kind heart of this precious bride. Elizabeth and I were Kappas together in college and I was beyond thrilled to share in her joyous wedding day this past weekend in East Texas. I've been holding these beautiful images until today and now am proud to present the new Mrs. Ryan Baumgardner. You are a class act Elizabeth. Thanks for thinking of me to be part of your wonderful wedding. Sneak peek to come very soon!

Chad + Kristi, Fort Worth Engagement Photography

When my cousin Chad and his beautiful fiancé Kristi asked me to take their engagement photos, my heart skipped a beat!! Kristi is the face of  Xen Tan and an experienced model, so you can imagine how flattered I was when she chose me as her engagement photographer!! These two are obviously stunning at first glance, but the best part about them is how much fun they are!! We seriously laughed our way through the entire session and I left feeling so happy at what a perfect match they are. They are the essence of a beautiful couple to their core and the shoot was so effortless and natural. I'm beyond grateful that they trusted me to document such a fun moment in their lives. All the best in your beautiful future together; you guys are truly wonderful.

Maggie + Alan, Fort Worth Engagements

Being what I still call "new" to Fort Worth certainly has its perks...one of which, is getting to meet fun new friends! Working with Maggie and Alan was such a treat. These two are some of the most laid back people I've ever had in front of my camera, and their easy going nature was so refreshing. I'm looking forward to their Fort Worth wedding this October!

Paul + Kat, Dallas Engagement

I'm so excited to be photographing Kat & Paul's wedding festivities this coming June!! These two are so much fun and Paul certainly gets the award for funniest groom yet. He had us laughing the entire afternoon. Kat & Paul are certainly in for a future full of laughter and fun!! I'm so thankful to have reconnected with sweet Kat, she is a gem and I adore everything about her! Enjoy their fun & flirty engagement session!!

HAD&P Wedding Graphic Design (From Fun to Formal)

Today's post is written by Elizabeth Locke, a freelance writer and blogger.  When Megan and Clayton announced Charleston, South Carolina as their destination wedding location, HAD&P was honored and excited to design a full package of invitations, ranging from the bachelorette party to hospitality cards to the wedding program.

Megan’s wedding colors were navy and coral. Navy is a classic color that incorporated the natural aspects of the sea and harbor into the wedding theme. Coral accents brightened the theme through flowers and decorations. The color combination created striking invitations, save the date cards and welcome brochures that reflected the bride’s chic taste.  Pineapples were included in the designs as a welcoming motif, representing hospitality and southern charm.

From the engagement to the wedding weekend, HAD&P designed the following to celebrate the couple:

  • Save the date
  • Personalized stationary and thank you cards
  • Bachelorette party invitations
  • Kitchen shower invitations and coordinating recipe cards
  • Cocktail party invitations
  • Welcome party invitations and brochure
  • Wedding program

These beautiful save-the-date cards were designed to communicate important wedding details to guests. The tri-fold included geometric prints and accents of lace.

The kitchen shower invitations and recipe cards were fun, bright and festive.

The nautical themes extended to the cocktail, bachelorette and welcome party invitations.

The navy and cream wedding programs were enhanced by lace accents on the front.

Congratulations to the wonderful couple! We loved celebrating this special time with you. To see more, check out Megan and Clayton's engagement photos and bridal photos.

Sarah + Carter, Oklahoma City Wedding Photography

Moving to Fort Worth has been a blessing in many way. I love our new house, I love the city of Fort Worth, but most of all I love my new friends!!! I met Sarah through my best friend Megan and am so grateful for the connection. She is such a breath of fresh air and has an incredibly sweet disposition. A fellow young entrepreneur herself, Sarah owns an adorable paperie/gift store on Cow Town's most happening boulevard, Camp Bowie. You may remember seeing some of her beautiful merchandise from the Inscriptions on the Blvd blog post back in November. Needless to say I was so humbled and honored when someone with such great taste and high expectations asked me to photograph her wedding!! To refresh your memory, check out Sarah and Carter's adorable engagement session from this past fall.

The wedding took place in Oklahoma City and was a lovely event from start to finish. Sarah styled the day with tasteful whites, subtle purples (for the couples love of TCU) and touches of timeless elegance intertwined with a modern flair. Sarah and Carter have been together all through college and fit one another just perfectly. I loved hearing about their fun background & courtship throughout the weekend, particularly at the rehearsal dinner!! They have a hysterical group of friends who made their way to OKC to help this dynamic duo celebrate their big day. There was never a dull moment and it's one of the most fun weddings I've had the pleasure of shooting. A big thanks to Britt Jones for being my second, you are so much fun my friend! Also, thanks to Sarah and Carter for including me on such a wonderful wedding weekend. I can't wait to make more fun memories now that we all live in the same city!! Wishing you the happiest of marriages you two!

Amanda + Reid Lubbock Wedding Photography

Amanda & Reid tied the knot in Lubbock recently and I'm so grateful I got to part of the entire event!! As I mentioned in Amanda's bridals posted previously, we've known each other for so long that it was really special to be able to serve my sweet childhood friend in this way. The reception was beautiful and elegant from every angle and was styled by none other than the most tasteful of florists, College Flowers. Elisabeth Burrows coordinated the event flawlessly and as always, was a true joy to work with!! Ashley Rodgers was my second shooter and flash guru throughout the day, a huge thanks to her as usual for being available! My good friend Shanda Hasse from White Sparrow Design created the invitations and fun graphics throughout the event while Marla Felton baked the yummy & beautiful cakes! I just love this team of vendors as they have all become friends, colleagues, and even supportive clients throughout the years! Amanda & Reid's wedding reception was a true joy as it gave me a chance to see many of my old high-school friends & their families. I'm so blessed to be able to call this a job. Thanks to everyone and enjoy a highlight of this lovely day!

This guy gets a dancing montage all to himself!! He was hysterical!

 Happy Wedding Amanda & Reid!

Amanda Lubbock Bridal Photography

Well, hello 2013! You certainly snuck up on me!! 2012 was filled with more excitement than I could have imagined, and I fully intend to post a recap of all the wonderful blessings and adventures that it had in store. Life has become sweeter and business has certainly blossomed! I have continually been humbled and graced by each one of your friendships and support. The HAD&P 2012 recap will be coming soon, however until I get myself organized enough to dive into the year behind us, please brace yourself for the fresh faces of 2013. Meet Amanda:

I had a wonderful time celebrating the new Mr. & Mrs. Reid Lindsey in Lubbock this weekend and have been counting down the days until I could post this lovely bridal session. Amanda, I adore every detail of your bridal couture. You are certainly beautiful inside and out & I still can't believe we've been friends for upwards of 15 years. This session was made possible by the wonderful planning of Elisabeth Burrows & the absolutely beautiful home of Kelly Marble. Thank you both! Best wishes to my sweet childhood friend, you are truly loved by many!

Sarah + Matthew, a Dallas Wedding

This wedding was lovely in every way. I'm currently a big fan of succulents, earth tone linens, and shades of poppy splashed with Tiffany blue. Sarah and Matthew are a match made in heaven. In fact, Matthew is the cousin to one of my best childhood friends, Meg. We used to always joke about the Hall brothers who happened to be twins and whose pictures were displayed on their family fridge. Since 7th grade, all of our friends secretly had imaginary weddings planned with one of the two. When Sarah asked me to photograph her wedding I had never met the groom. We had our initial meeting and she showed me a picture of Matt and I just knew he looked so familiar. Ha, little did I know he was the man behind that very refrigerator picture at Meg's house from so many years ago!! It is such a small world and I feel so fortunate to know Sarah. She and my brother were friends all through school and she is a true gem of a bride. She is so soft spoken and as sweet as she looks. It was a joy to be at their ceremony, as it was one of the sweetest I've seen yet. Thank you both for including me on your wedding day and best wishes in the future!

Celina + Wes San Antonio Wedding

Celina and Wes were blessed with a beautiful wedding day in the heart of San Antonio. There is nothing better than a fall wedding with what feels like summer weather! We were fortunate to have the beautiful golden hues that November light has to offer, paired with the warm sun-kissed temperatures of the South. Celina and Wes have known each other practically all their lives and were high school sweethearts. Celina attended TCU and Wes went to A&M, but they still managed to maintain a relationship that would make it to the altar after all these years!! These two are truly so in love and are a stunning couple in every way. They were surrounded by wonderful friends and family who showed up to support and celebrate this union in style. The reception was unreal and the Garza's hosted an elegant seated dinner and an incredible party accompanied by the band The Pictures (who played at our wedding in 2009, truly the best wedding band around)! It was a joy to see Celina and Wes so happy and in love. Weddings like this just confirm why I love photography so much.

Remember to leave a comment to receive a link inviting you to see the full Garza + Warren viewing gallery in four to six weeks!
A special thanks to Ashley Rodgers for meeting me in San Antonio to second shoot! You are a total blast my friend!

Inscriptions on the Boulevard

I mentioned that I had worked with Inscriptions on the Boulevard recently and I'm so excited to share this post!!! Sarah is one of my new friends here in Fort Worth and I'm obsessed with her store. They have a bit of everything for everyone. From paperies of foil, letterpress and pre-printed cards to baby books and gifts, Inscriptions is truly a one stop shop for the modern socialite. They have Jon Hart and even my favorite baby bath product, Noodle & Boo! Seriously such great variety. I'm pretty much obsessed with anything letterpress right now and was so excited to photograph some of Sarah's favorite designs for her upcoming ads. Go check out all Inscriptions has to offer, it's a really great place to start your holiday shopping!!

Neely + Cody Boerne Wedding Photography

Neely and Cody were blessed with a perfectly crisp fall day for their splendid Hill Country wedding. They got married at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, and I was so excited to learn that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert tied the knot there just this past year!! Neely & Cody are even sweeter than they look and could not be more genuine. I'm blessed to work with such incredible people and must say it's clients/friends like these that make me love my job so dearly. I had a blast at their wedding and loved catching up with many of our old college friends. Neely and I were both Kappas at Tech and her mom was actually my pre-school teacher!! There is nothing better than a beautiful fall wedding with two lovebirds like this. Thanks for sharing!

Sarah + Carter Fort Worth Engagement Photography

I'm so excited to share this beautiful engagement session!! Sarah and Carter plan to tie the knot this February in Oklahoma City and I'm flattered to play a part! These two met while at TCU and share not only a great love for each other, but for their alma mater as well!! It only made sense to make our way to TCU's new stadium for a few shots. Both Sarah and Carter have deep roots in cow town, and Sarah owns one of the cutest paperie & gift stores in Fort Worth, Inscriptions on the Boulevard. I highly recommend any of you brides reading to check out her amazing line up of vendors. She has a great selection of letterpress which I'm currently loving. In fact Sarah asked me to photograph a few of her recent graphic designs and I plan on sharing them with you guys soon!! In the meantime enjoy these two, they are incredibly fun and I'm so glad to call them my new friends!!!

Ashton + Matt

Ashton & Matt are simply adorable. Yet another KKG sister of mine, I'm more than honored to be part of this beautiful wedding!! We met in Fort Worth to shoot around West 7th area. Right as the sun was getting to that magical point in the evening Ashton realized she had forgotten to pack her jeans for her second outfit!! We did what we ladies do best and had an impromptu shopping trip to University Park. No worries- we were in, out and on with the shoot just in time for the best light of the night!! I adore these two and these lovely images.
